If you’ve been following along on my blog this year, you may know that at the beginning of each month I share an inspirational calendar and art print. With the holidays fast approaching, I wanted to do something a little different this month. November is an obvious time for people to turn their minds toward what they are thankful for. While it’s inadequate to choose gratitude for only a day or even a month, turning thankfulness into a habit will take time, and there’s no better time to start than right now!
This month I’m challenging myself to begin each day with a grateful heart, and I’d like to encourage you to join me. You can download and use this calendar as a way to daily jot little notes about what you’re thankful for. At first this may seem easy, but really try to challenge yourself here:
What are some of the less obvious things you’re thankful for?
Who is a person you might be tempted to take for granted? How can you thank them?
Or, what’s something difficult you’ve faced this year that has changed your perspective and helped you appreciate life in a different way? (Over the summer I wrote about some tough decisions my family and I made and how making a choice to live each day on purpose with an attitude of gratitude and contentment changed me.)
As I mentioned, I’ll be joining you on this gratitude journey as well. Each day I’ll be sharing what I’m grateful for on both my Instagram account and my Facebook account (for some accountability, and encouragement to you!) My goal is to be intentional about giving thanks this month so that it will help me give praise to God, enable me to recognize how rich my life is, and ultimately become a regular habit.
